Finding Selections – The Beginners Guide
It is very easy to get over whelmed with sports betting and particularly horse racing. In horse racing there are so many factors to take into consideration and everywhere you look there are ratings but no information on what they mean!
This makes it hard for the new bettor to get to grips with what they need to do and can sometimes leaving you feeling confused.
Some of the factors that a professional bettor on horse racing may consider are…
Form
Going
Class
Weight
Speed
Fitness
Pace
Race Conditions
There are others as well but already we can see how the choice of a selection is starting to become a minefield!
In a 10 runner race if you were to consider each of these 8 factors for each horse with every other horse then Horse 1 has 8 factors to be compared with Horse 2. Then Horse 1 has 8 factors to be compared with Horse 3 etc…
This results in a total of 720 comparisons!
Now you can see why some full-time horse racing bettors can spend two or three hours analysing a race!
There are two keys to being a successful bettor on horse racing and they are…
- Specialisation
- Specialisation
Okay so that is one word but we have to use it twice! The first specialisation is for specific race conditions. The second specialisation is for a factor.
For example I may choose to specialise in All Weather sprint races and then specialise my analysis to speed factors.
By doing this we become experts in a niche area of horse racing and pretty soon that we know everything there is to know about it. Once we are successful we can then dedicate some time to another specialisation, usually we would keep the same race conditions or factor so that we are only adding the task of learning one new specialisation at a time!
This is the true way to become successfull bettor and I strongly suggest you start implementing it right now.
