Argentinean Football is finally underway. Betting Tips

After days of indecision and u-turn, the Argentinean football season will get underway this Friday. After weeks of negotiations it seemed that AFA had finally settled on doing exactly the same tournament as last year with play-off at the end of the season between the winners of the two halves of the championship. They than changed their minds again but there will still be a play-off at the end of the season to decide the ‘superchampion’.
Working out how the tournament is structured is still easier than picking a winner: even with all his faults Argentinean football does still produce consistently entertaining and competitive title races. If you look at the last eight years there have been many different champions with only Velez Sarsfield and Boca Juniors who won twice. Boca was close to finishing first in last season but they capitulated towards the end of the season and failed to win any of their last three games. Arsenal de Sarandi were able to exploit this situation and finished their season superbly. Boca also lost the Copa Libertadores and they will be keen to bounce back this term and lift some silverware.
It won’t be easy though as they will have to cope with the fact that several players have quit the club with Juan Roman Riquelme, Dario Cvitanich and Pablo Mouche all left for good. They are 2.10 to win at Quilmes on Saturday but given the cautious outlook of their coach and the uncertainty around the club.

A bit short and sweet. This guy sounds like he has a good handle on Argentian football and therefore a more in depth look at the up coming season would have made for interesting reading.
Thanks Paul. I have requested for future articles to be longer already 😉
