Professor Plum, in the dining room with a…
I bloody love Cluedo!
It’s one of the games that we’ve recently brought out of retirement from the back of our cupboard in preparation for Christmas.
And it’s the old version, it belonged to my grandparents, the box is barely holding together, but the game itself is still in excellent condition. And because it’s an original, the pieces feel like they’re quality, rather than the flimsy plastic you get these days.
Anyway, why the heck am I talking about Cluedo?
Because in the 13:00 at Catterick, there’s a horse called Professor Plum.
What an awesome name!
Taking a quick look at this race in Profit Recall, which you can access here if you’re not already using this awesome tool, we see this…
As you can see, it automagically finds the strongest horses in the race, and orders them with their scores.
And we notice two things…
- Professor Plum and Italian Riviera are close to each other
- There’s a big gap to the third runners score, Cape Hideaway.
If we were to bet on Professor Plum and Italian Riviera, we’d have just over a 35% chance of winning this race.
Not bad for a couple of seconds’ work
But it gets better, we get our own odds line, then we can enter the public odds, and then we can see which horses are offering value.
You can see, because of the green mark on the last column, that Professor Plum looks to be offering value at current odds.
Now you could just bet that runner straight off, but I like to do a couple of quick checks. Professor Plum hasn’t run since 2015, but that’s because we’re still quite early into the jumps season.
But… he has a 40% win rate.
Wowzas.
He’s currently fifth in the market, while Italian Riviera is favourite.
So… I’m going to be going each-way on Professor Plum.
And that’s how quick it is to analyse a race using Profit Recall.
Which you can get today, and find the winners in the rest of today’s racing, by heading here now.
All the best,
