Michael started the Race Advisor in 2009 to help bettors become long-term profitable. After writing hundreds of articles I started to build software that contained my personal ratings. The Race Advisor has more factors for UK horse racing than any other site, and we pride ourselves on creating tools and strategies that are unique, and allow you to make a long-term profit without the need for tipsters. You can also check out my personal blog or my personal Instagram account.

  1. Automatic test system for a theory
eg last year’s results if you backed all favourites under 2/1 in H’cap Chases

  2. I used to use a program called bet tornado on my ipad it’s best feature was, it allowed me to follow betfair prices on selected horses (only 4 in view at a time , which was a shame).Sadly due to betfair’s upgrade on their API It now ceased to exist. If there was a program that allowed me to see unlimited selections of betfair prices at a glance,it would save a hell of lot of time scrolling through each race on my gruss software betting assistant.

      1. No.Not necessarily for a mobile device. Something like oddschecker, where you put in various selections and see all bookmakers, but has up to the second betfair prices on your selections at a glance.

          1. Yes.the same info as you would see on a trading software, but for only on your selections for the day to compare with bookmaker prices.

    1. Steve try traderline, it has iPad app which is excellent, also approved with betfair new API and 30 days trial. Bit confused how many selections do you want it to show, but I have iPad mini Retina and I have no problem seeing all horses in a race.

  3. Hi Mike… A dedicated software to show which horse/s we could back to place on the place market and also
which horse/s we could lay to lose on the place markets.

    regards Paul J.P.

  4. Hi Michael,

For me an EWAY system would be number one. Followed closing by a Profiler system.
However I use Dutching as my main system, so anything that helps improve what I
already use in my own system would be helpful.

    Thanks,

    Keep up the good work.

    Daniel.

  5. Hi Michael , It would be nice to see a spread sheet that calculates speed ratings for you , by entering your info into the spread sheet a final speed rating would be calculated .
This would include your own standard times , finish times of all runners , the going variance and maybe a column for class or weight . Just a thought that would save a heap of time without doing calculations , coming up with a speed rating for all runners .
    Cheers .

    1. Thank you Daniel, that’s a very interesting idea. So you’d like to do your own calculations for the elements required and have the spreadsheet calculate them into speed ratings for you?

  6. Michael

Thanks for your various thoughts in last few weeks and you have opened my eyes to a couple of things.
I may have stumbled on a little system that benefits me.
I only bet small amounts I.e 25p trixies and small Yankees.
On your tools bar the one thing I try and get my head round is the handicapping system so any help on that would be grateful.

  7. Hello Micheal,

As I am actually learning how to trade pre-racing, it would be usefull to have a software showing you when and which horse to trade before the start of the race.

A sound alert associated with graphs and some pre manual and/or automated settings would be perfect.
Last but not least, only a one time pay off, no mothely or annual subscription if possible, like the Geek Toy for example…

A Dobbing bot would also be mostlly usefull….but that maybe too much to ask for…

Finally, an easy visual form reading assosiated with all the stats and feature of the horse showing clearly his chances in percentage for example to win or at least compete in the race combined with an IN-Play trading Bot.. aimed .especially at the final furlongs where the winner is running to the finish and can’t be beaten anymore… Master In Play was such a Bot but doesn’t apparently exist any more…

    Have a nice day,

    JP

  8. What would help Michael, is to weed out the dodgy ones, such as Fallers, Unseated, Pull Up and so on, especially if its happened more than once, since I find there’s not that much time to select a winner, after looking at all the stats, bedfore the OFF. I know there’s no certainty that one of these might fly through, but just to sort the “wheat” from the “chaff” must be a great help.

  9. Anything to help with speed ratings; some indication of the running times of each race/distance on each/every racetrack.

  10. Just developed t)my own system using lingfield all wheather only with stop at winner instructions does not giv bets everyday won today 8/13

  11. Hi Michael thanks for your email again, the thing that would help me most is time as working and family commitments leave me struggling to make a really informed judgement in the time allowed, the other thing i struggle with is the staking, i can find the contenders which win often enough but how to back them is something i am finding hard, a bet recording tool and odds lines might help, thanks for all your help again if you ever need advice about carpentry, building or costs etc drop me a line, all the best colin.

  12. For JP. Dobbingday.com have a dobbing bot which automates your selections to whatever % you require.Lots of stats and graphs but it is an annual subscription. Also Trading the Horse TTH identifies Misaligned prices in win and place market but again annual or monthly subs but worth checking out (I never quite got hang of it but that doesn’t make it bad)

  13. Hello MICHAEL, JUST SIGNED UP TO YOU TODAY..(I`m what “might be referred to, as “A GOLDEN OLDIE”)as i`m at the Tender Age OF 88.!! so as You may Summise I`ve laid out a few bob over the years.!!from 1945 ,WHEN i WON THE DERBY LOTTERY ABOARD a Troop Ship WHEN “AIRBOURNE”
made it look easy!!! I do tend to study of course, and oft times come up with my own little Systems WHICH SOMEHOW ONLY SEEM TO DO WELL FOR SHORT PERIODS…BUT NEVER THE LESS…FOR A WHILE THEY WORK….AND HOW I love it when I manage to spike the “enemy…and make no MISTAKE…THEY ARE THE ENEMY AS FAR AS I`M CONCERNED..!! i WAS REALLY PLEASED,AND ALSO GENUINELY SURPRISED TO RECEIVE YOUR REQUEST FOR MY PREFERRED METHOD OF BETTING. I thought that was a Genteel, and Gentlemanly way TO DO BUSINESS. 0nce I GET “SETTLED IN ” I WILL CONTACT YOU AS TO MY PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS. Just thought …One nice thought deserves a Decent reply.
    SINCERELY, John P.(AKA JP1.)

    1. Hi John, welcome to the Race Advisor, it’s great to have you as a reader and your feedback is very much appreciated. I shall look forward to hearing from you in the future.

  14. This is a big one. But basically every horse has its favoured conditions ,therefore software that could track every horse over its entire career from 2yo to 4yo± and it then identifies when it has its best chance of winning according to the conditions in any particular race.

  15. Been with R.D for a number of years and would like to take this opportunity to thank you personally and your associates for providing an excellent and truly TRUSTWORTHY SERVICE. What tool that would help me the most is for the R.D ratings to be explained in greater depth, maybe some form of glossary.Tabulated groups of ratings that apply to certain race types. How certain ratings relate to one another etc.SUMMARY=GREATER DEPTH OF EXPLANATION for the R.D. RATINGS. Many thanks.
