What Has Happened To Our System Test?

Guest article by Malcolm Pett from Greyhorse Bot

Hi all,

This month I would like to update from the trial I started last month using the Grey Horse Bot.

You can read the last article here:

http://www.raceadvisor.co.uk/making-a-profit-automatically/

I mentioned in the above article that I was being a bit “wacky” and using a progressive staking system which laid the place markets using a back system that had been adapted.

So what’s happened since then?

Well the first thing was a mistake by me. I had to go away for a few days and while playing around with the settings (I was on the phone and should know better!) before I left for some strange reason I changed my stop/loss setting to 90% and after a bad
run I came back to a bank that had dropped back down to below what I had started with.

I could kick myself because if I had not played around, I would have just lost around ÂŁ5 or ÂŁ6 and still been in profit.

Anyway that’s the whole point of testing at small stakes, to see what may happen in the real world…isn’t it?

After recovering from my huge loss of ÂŁ15.00 (I have to make it sound dramatic) I decided I was going to re-run the test but this time I was going to use the main markets instead of the place ones.

I had also decide by this time to change my odds range from 1.02 – 3.00 to 1.40 to 3.00. I just always seemed to lose at the lower odds (maybe another system?) so decided to save myself the trouble.

That is the only setting I changed everything else stayed the same including the number of runners.

My expectations were that I would have very few bets within that price range especially as many of them are 2.00 to 3.00 on the place market. So I have been pleasantly surprised with the number we have been getting which has meant a reasonable amount of profit everyday.

Please click here to download the file which will show you how many selections I have missed.

Some are the price range and others are the number of runners. The date range is from the 14th May to the 26th May (no weekends) and I am sorry about the dates in the file I am just being lazy!

I must tell you that I am using 2 bots on the same account so the stakes (set to 1% of my bank) are going up slightly quicker than they normally do, but you can see that overall I have made ÂŁ6.18 which for 9 days and starting with 8p stakes is not that bad.

The system has had a few losing streaks of 3 in a row and a couple of good winning streaks, one of which was 8 races in a row. Before it happened I was considering whether I could use it as a back system as well, but I am not so sure now.

What I have really enjoyed about this trial is the number of emails I have had from people adapting the selections to see if they can improve the strike rate. Some users are experimenting with the odds range others with the actual race types and number of runners. One user who wouldn’t give me his exact changes (can I blame him) says he has actually eliminated nearly every loser!

As a system and software developer I am always looking for something to give to users of our products and although this is still early days, it is good to see Grey Horse Bot members getting the most from the selections.

This system is available as a bonus in the member’s area, along with several others that are on trial.

Thanks for reading.
