Michael started the Race Advisor in 2009 to help bettors become long-term profitable. After writing hundreds of articles I started to build software that contained my personal ratings. The Race Advisor has more factors for UK horse racing than any other site, and we pride ourselves on creating tools and strategies that are unique, and allow you to make a long-term profit without the need for tipsters. This man and his team should be awarded a medal for services rendered to horse-racing punters. The best advice on the net comes from the Race Advisor….Trust me…
Thank you very much Josephine 🙂
Excellent work ,if you took all the selections , 5 winners from 6 selections. Question , you had the going set for good going , but it was on the soft side ,as the times of the first 2 races showed , how much would the going change affect the program.
Thanks Steve 🙂 A nice profit of 7.67 units on the races at Betfair SP. Regarding the ground conditions, when I was looking at the races this morning I didn’t know about the changing ground. In reality, it depends on how much I think it’s changed. If the change is significant, then it could make a big difference, if the change in ground is slight then I probably wouldn’t re-analyse.
Very impressed by this video…so clearly analytical and logical. But although a member I do not have all those reference points on my racing cards. What do I need to do to view them all- without breaking the bank, naturally!
Thanks James. I made that race card in Racing Dossier specifically to make that video 🙂 If you go to Racing Dossier in your members area, you can make the exact same race card I did and follow the same process. If you’ve got any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our support team.
Nice work, I followed the video with interest. As expected some of the ratings that you use are different from some of those that I use, on others we agree. One difference that stands out for me is that you do not have a rating for distance. Do you consider that distance is not important enough to include or is that specific factor covered in the Contender and/or 5278 ratings?
Hi Alf, I thought I’d replied to your comment but just seen it doesn’t seem to have come through, so apologies for the delay. Distance is covered in those combination ratings, I do sometimes use a speed figure over distance, but prefer to put more importance on the going.
hi Michael, enjoyed yesterdays video.i have a question in the dslgr and lgr10 I take 3 lengths or under to winner, what is the distance you take, thanks in advance dave
3 lengths or under is a good amount. I reduce this over shorter races or easier conditions, but will seldom go above this.
I was trying Racing Dossier but found I hadn’t got the time (work) to get my head around it so stopped. I had signed up for the trial because I was interested in the VDW method and streamlining it but when I tried it I didn’t find the VDW method listed as one of the rating types. Is it something that is now there or does it have to be set up by the user from scratch?
I am interested in having another look at the VDW method as I remember the stir the original articles caused when Van der Wheil first started being featured in Raceform (that was a few years back) and felt there might be some positives to be taken from it but never followed it up and forgot about it until you recently brought it up again.
Hi David, the VDW ratings were always in there, but you would have needed to create your own race card and added them to it. However, I’ve now created a race card with the same ratings as used in the above video which is available in your account by default.
What were the results on your picks that were on the video above.
If you’d just backed them all (without taking into account their pre-race market position), we had to BSP…
