Michael started the Race Advisor in 2009 to help bettors become long-term profitable. After writing hundreds of articles I started to build software that contained my personal ratings. The Race Advisor has more factors for UK horse racing than any other site, and we pride ourselves on creating tools and strategies that are unique, and allow you to make a long-term profit without the need for tipsters. 1. Hi Michael
I note that your stats for TTS show only 4 bets, tis site has been running since October with many selections and is definately losing. Am I looking at the correct TTS or is there another one. I have tried many times to get into the members website and failed,

  2. personally i would love to see 3 – 6 12 and all time if possible

id be really interested in knowing longer term numbers for evening value service as i am really surprised it made money at bfsp **removed as requested**

    1. Don’t forget it depends on when you started proofing it. We have found that the profit made has been recently where the selections have been performing well.

    2. Sorry I forgot to mention that you will be able to choose timeframes on the website interface we are developing but showing all would be too much in our weekly email.

  3. Three or 6 months to overcome freak good/bad results. The results over a short period can be heavily influenced according to when you start recording bets in relation to the tipsters betting cycle. e.g. if you start recording after a good run then the tipsters results probably won’t look so good over a short cycle.

    1. We only began proofing TTS recently which is why we only have a few selections. If you are having trouble accessing the members area I suggest you get in touch with Gavin at TTS and in sure he will help get it sorted.

    2. Thanks for the reply. My apologies for posting a reply to Hugh’s comment here. This is the reason we have been showing 3 months in the weekly updates.

    3. Absolutely Hugh, that is why we have been doing three months but thought it would be better to ask what you would like.

  4. sorry didnt realise that was for public posting please do not quote my numbers as may well be wrong and it would be unfair

  5. This is an ineresting question. However, in my opinion, it is the wrong one. I believe the question should be “How many total selections would you like our weekly tipster updates to be based on”. It is the long term Strike Rate that is important and this is best described in terms of the total number of selections .The variance between the long term Strike Rate and the quoted Strike Rate for say Evening Vaue Service on the one hand (381 selections) and say Value Backing on the other (13 selections) could be huge.
My answer to my revised question would be 100 times the reciprocal of the per unit Strike Rate. Based on currently quoted Strike Rates this would give, for the top five tipsters quoted, 586 selections, 480, 221, 301 and 392 selections respectively. Clearly, for some tipsters, a lot more data needs to be gathered before the quoted Strike Rates could be regarded as “statistically sound”!
If I had to answer the currently asked question I would have to say “Every selection we have ever proofed” in order to obtain the most statistically sound data possible.
    Regards
    Paul Jones.

    1. As you say Paul we want a certain amount of data, which is what we wait for before recommending anything. Tipsters of course vary dramatically in the amount of selections they provide so if we didn’t show the results for a tipster until they had 100 selections you could be waiting 6 months for some tipsters. However all results will be available in our website interface that we are developing so you will be able to use this for all time selections.

  6. Hi, I think you need a running total displayed from the start of service and a separate column for the current month, why only have one when one without the other not enough.

    1. Hi John, thanks for the comment. You will be able to choose this from the website interface we are developing, however in our email update this would be too much content to fit into the email as it would become un-readable.

  7. Hi Michael, personally i think at least 3 to 6 months, the longer the better to get an overall picture of how the selections/system(s) are doing which covers the losing and winning periods on a better time frame

  8. i think 3 to 6 months gives you a idea how good they are i have tried a lot over the years too many i think have to many selections it costs you too much money to follow i know everybody is different i like at most 1 bet a day or roughly 7/9 at most a week stick with £5 a point etc puta month is not nearly long enough have to wait at least 3 month give tham a chance
