Its Just Not Cricket

Last Sunday saw a standoff between rival jockey’s Jim Crowley and Raul da Silva with the former claiming that he was “the victim of an unprovoked attack from behind”.

In a statement issued to Press Association Sport, the 2016 champion jockey alleged he was struck “with what felt like a piece of lead” after a “number of jockeys” questioned Da Silva’s riding technique.

It Should Be A Cracking Race

It’s all about Cracksman this Wednesday, as he bids to put his poor show at Epsom behind him. John Gosden’s star colt will be looking to put an underwhelming display last time out behind him, when he was all out to beat Salouen in the Coronation Cup.
He’s the banker of the meeting, according to most pundits and at around even money, he could also be the value bet.

What Do You Get If You Cross A Britain’s Got Talent Judge and A Champion Jockey?

A new comedy duo has lined-up to highlight the fact that under 18’s can go racing for free.

Just as Ernie Wise was to Eric Morecambe, Oliver Hardy was to Stan Laurel, and Paul Chuckle was to Barry Chuckle, Moore plays the straight man to Walliams’ funny guy in the third instalment of GBR’s Horsing Around series.
The series is aimed at getting home the message those aged under 18 can go racing for free.

It’s an unlikely duo, but worth a quick watch, and will put a smile on your face.

Royal Ascot – A British Kind of Race Meeting

For racing traditionalists, there are few meetings on the calendar to match the 5-day extravaganza that takes place at Ascot every June. Known as ‘Royal Ascot’, the meeting has been the course’s centrepiece since 1711, when it was founded by Queen Anne. Entry to the festival comes with a guarantee that you’ll see world-class action, as there are a total of 18 Group Races, and at least one Group One race on each of the five days.

With a total prize fund of almost £7 million, it is among the world’s most lucrative festivals. An estimated 300,000 people travel to Ascot during the five days, which makes it the best-attended meeting in European racing. There is much ground to cover when describing Royal Ascot, so let’s begin with why it is such a regal affair:
