*deep breath* * deep breath* and…

In the world of horse racing, May is a smorgasbord of horse racing festivals.

When we get a week like this one, when there isn’t a horse racing festival, it’s important to take a deep breath and relax, because there’s another one coming up right behind it 😉

In fact, next week is the Dante festival!

But we’ve still got time to get our analysis done before next week.

This week, just because there;s no racing festival, doesn’t mean there isn’t any good horse racing action taking place.

Quite the opposite.

The Sandown’s Brigadier Gerard evening on Thursday which will be shown on ITV4, the Temple Stakes at Haydock on Saturday will hopefully feature the return of the explosive Battaash, and it’s Irish Guineas weekend at the Curragh as well.

*** phew ***

So where do we begin with this action?

With the awesome new feature from Alex Peperell published every Monday morning called Who To Watch.

He looks at the trainers, jockeys and horses you should be following during the coming week.

For example…

Mark Johnston – Managed an exceptional 12 winners last week which included a 4-timer on Saturday and also 3 ‘1-2s’. Over 65% of his runners placed and he’ll likely have plenty of contenders in the coming days, but the yard is flying.

Or…

Joe Fanning5 winners last week and a further 7 places from just 17 rides giving him a 29% Win strike rate and 70% Place strike rate. Goes especially well from the front on Mark Johnston horses.

And even…

Without Parole – Produced an excellent time-figure on his second appearance and has looked seriously impressive winning both starts by 6-lengths each, son of Frankel could be anything. Entered at Sandown on Thursday.

Okay, down to the nitty-gritty…
